UTAH SOCIETY OF PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS

Established 1907

The Utah Society of Professional Engineers (USPE) is a non-profit organization devoted to the advancement of the professional engineer and those aspiring to attain that status. USPE was established in 1907. Since its establishment, USPE and its members have actively sought the promotion of professional licensing in the engineering profession. Further, USPE members are actively involved in representing the profession and protecting its interests.

USPE is a subordinate society of the National Society of Professional Engineers . The National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) is the only engineering society that represents individual engineering professionals and licensed professional engineers (PE's) across all disciplines. NSPE strengthens the engineering profession by: 1) promoting licensure and ethics, 2) enhancing the engineering professionals' image, 3) advocating and protecting the licensed professional engineer's rights at the national and state levels, 4) publishing current news about the profession, and 5) providing continuing education opportunities.

Founded in 1934, NSPE serves approximately 50,000 members and the public through 53 state and territorial societies and more than 500 local chapters. A staff team provides member support from their location in Alexandria, Virginia. In 1951, NSPE launched National Engineers Week and, by partnering with other societies and industry, has built it into the most popular annual celebration of engineering in the country.
